The Intimacy Between Me and My Imagination

Each piece in this body of work extended from my sense of wonder and awe for the intricacies of the natural world. My opportunities to immerse myself within nature are often limited due to my chronic health issues. In an attempt to connect more deeply with the world’s natural beauty, I turned to my vivid imagination. Through oil painting and ceramics, I portrayed the travels of a self-representing, genderless character through my own natural universe. I painted and sculpted my internal landscapes inspired by the beauty of natural phenomena, the complexity of ecosystems, and the brilliance of the many creatures that inhabit our planet.
